Bio and Song Chronology

Matty Healy, Taylor Swift's Most Recent Inspiration

Matty Healy is Taylor Swift’s most recent prolific muse. Taylor wrote numerous songs about Healy while she was in her relationship with Joe Alwyn, and the pair started dating immediately when that relationship ended. Notorious for his problematic behavior, Swift received a public outcry when their relationship was revealed. Shortly thereafter, Healy left Taylor without a word, prompting her to write her longest album to date, The Tortured Poets Department, with a whopping 31 songs. Songs inspired by the rockstar explore themes of forbidden love, infidelity, mania, denial, sorrow, and betrayal.
